Boomin' & Bloomin'!

Well, looky looky! Our first blog post! This is monumental, so please, take just a moment and submit this to memory.

 

You may know Boise Cakery participated in the 2nd Annual Blooming Bride Spring Show by I Love Boise Weddings held at Angell's Bar And Grill Renato downtown Boise.  Boise Cakery was also invited to participate in 1 of 3 stylized professional photo shoots LIVE at the bridal show! So, of course, I said "YES!"

The experience that ensued was so much more.

We also debuted a few new Signature Flavors from our newly released Menu! 'Blueberry Martini' & 'Good Fortune' to name a few, and we sampled our Gourmet Rice Crispy Treats for the first time, and danggggg, they went over well! Go ahead, take a look at our new menu HERE!

 

So after the threatening, yet lovely & ever-changing, Idaho weather (if you don't like it, wait 5 minutes) decided to settle on overcast and breezy, the fun began! First of all, the idea of an interactive photo shoot was brilliant.  Marcela, of I Love Boise Weddings, was the mastermind behind this concept and I loved it.  Brides coming in and out of the set, asking questions about the products and set-up, talking directly to the vendors mid shot.  

 


Victoria of Jade Weddings and Events, Martha of A Succulent Day, Marcela of Urban Gal Photography & I Love Boise Weddings, and of course me, Shantelle(!), of Boise Cakery, all did what we do best and collaborated on this incredible set.  I must say, we all play quite nicely together! It's truly a beautiful thing when vendors can work together to learn, collaborate, and raise each other up! Boomin' Boss Ladies! I'm telling you, I'm feeling great about these talented ladies and their business' futures.  And although she was not at the show, Monica of Aletheia Designs, was sweet to lend us her gorgeous macrame hanging and plant hangers.

 

Let's get to the cake! The theme: 2017 Pantone Greenery Bride/Eco Chic.  My first thought was to keep it simple! Minimal, but thoughtfully designed.  After a discussion with Martha, we decided that fresh succulents would be the way to go.  

The result was this 3 tier multi shape cake with wood spacer.  Subtle, organic textures with a hint of gold.  The feature tier incorporates a simple macrame design, and beautiful fresh succulents crowning the cake & clustered below.  It's subtle, but yet such a statement piece!
