In short, the cake decorating began when my oldest turned 2. A bundt cake, a bouquet of yellow daisy's, and a Precious Moments figurine = my very first custom cake.
8 years & countless cakes later I enrolled in the heavily under-appreciated (and now non-existent) Culinary Program at the College of Western Idaho while working a brief stint for a franchised baking & pastry shop. Then, throughout 3 years of general studies and the Culinary program, I was able to gain invaluable experience in fine dining at Shore Lodge Narrows, in McCall, ID, during winter & summer school breaks under respected Executive Chef Steven Topple, and respected Chef de Cuisine Julian Greaves. I then completed my culinary externship with respected Executive Chef Gary Kucy of Rupert's at Hotel McCall, in McCall, ID.
After returning to Boise to finish the C.W.I Culinary program, my previous baking & pastry instructor, Chef Jackie, recommended me for hire at a local custom cake shop where I worked until May 2016.
And now, here I am, with the help and love of my family, nurturing my abiding passion for cake art & building my own dream...BOISE CAKERY! Currently, the cakery operates out of my home kitchen here in the City of Trees, but who knows where we may be baking in a few years, wink wink.

We share a storefront with the incredibly talented ladies of One Haute Cookie, who specialize in custom sugar cookies. We've been told our business pairing is a "match made in a mixing bowl!"
